What the best way to come up with a finished looking piece of work for hand in?

Notes on visuals/game:
We have a good understanding/handle on the outside section (leave it for the moment and just polish it later)
Figure out the layout of the base of the tower and make use of what we already have
We can either do a simple roof with torches on the interior or a ruined tower with no roof so that it is open air or do a mixture of the two so we have torches and holes in the ceiling for lighting
The puzzles need more in game logic and guide UI
Having the narrative section at the end would be nice but not necessary - However if it affects the game play it might be worth doing
We need something to round off the game and give it an ending (the narrative section might work well)
Vertical slice should feel finished for the MA hand-in
