Meeting 07
Attendees: Mike Pickton (Supervisor)
Agenda
Am I going in the right direction in my 2D/3D project?
Do you think there is anything else I should add to the diorama?
Is there anything else you think I should be working on?
Feedback
It's good that I am showing different types of surfaces; organic, hard surface, fur etc.
Might need more asymmetry
I need to stick with the "chunky" theme; so the hinges on the trunk need to be thicker.
Are flat thing flat or do they bow?
What is modelled and what is textured.
All of the little notes I have taken will end up being the annotations
The straps on the chest need pins in the texture and another set of straps at the bottom.
Check the work for detailed/contrasting areas using a high-pass filter.
Use a mid grey background with the work layer set to colour to check saturation.
Completely desaturate the work to check the values.
Use the HSB colour palette to check the saturation and values of the colours; this will be helpful when annotating.
For example the characters saturation should be 40-100% whilst the environment is 20-80%.
For example the characters values should be 0-100% whilst the environment is 30-70%.
Possibly have a brick wall this would be really helpful for the art direction to help environment artists; also have a floor and some plants.
Objectives for next week
Finish modelling everything and be onto texturing
Rig the character
For a stretch goal make the cat
